Pumpkin Time

You know fall is officially here, when you begin to see the giant cardboard boxes of pumpkins in front of the grocery stores. I love those giant orange orbs. Something about them just screams fun to me. Perhaps it's my memories of flinging pumpkins thru the air at the pumpkin farm in Sequim. Autumn is such a wonderful time of year. The amazing colors of the leaves falling off the trees. The wind blowing, quiet whispers that winter is going to be here soon.
Every year I take my kids to the pumpkin farm to see all of the giant pumpkins and animals. We love to see the enormous squash that the farmers have been babying to grow so big. I love to take the kids portraits hugging and sitting on the giant orange and yellow pumpkins.

Fall is a great time to have outdoor family portraits taken. The portraits make wonderful Christmas gifts for family and friends, and gets one thing off the list for the busy Holiday season that is fast approaching. Plus we still have some dry days, which won't last forever. Call to book your outdoor fall season session now.

Hope you all enjoy your Autumn and hope to hear from you soon.

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Vinnee's first day of Kindergarten. This is the big day Vinnee has been waiting for all summer. We are lucky enough to live directly across the street from the school he will be going to until 6th grade.

We went to Wallmart and bought all of his school supplies, including his new Speed Racer backpack, only to find that Levi was extremely jealous. After listening to them fight over who got to wear the backpack all day, my mom and I decided we better go find Levi his own backpack. It was just in the nick of time too, because I just got thru throwing Levi's diaper bag into the trash because of a broken zipper. Now Levi can carry his own diapers and wipes. Haha. He doesn't care if there is anything in it or not, so why not.
Vinnee seemed to feel very comfortable at his new desk, and immediately started making friends and playing. I don't even think he noticed when Levi and I slipped out the door to walk home.

Levi on the other hand was very upset. He wanted so much to join brother for a fun day of activities at kinder garden, and even tried to push Vinnee out of his seat at his desk to play with the Lego's. We had an afternoon of a lot of tears. I think once he realizes that he's going to get mom all to himself for the afternoons he might not mind so much that his best buddy is gone for a few hours, but this might take a few weeks to sink in.

All in all it was a great first day at Burley Glenwood Elementary. Vinnee's only complaint was that it took to long in the day to go to Recess, which already seems to be his favorite subject.
