The Great Hair Experiment
For those of you that don't personally know my son Vincent. He is quite the creative one. He's only 8, and yet he seems to have his own creative quirky side to him. Much like his father. I would say he likes the shock factor of surprising people with new crazy styles and off beat antics.
He has been talking about shaving his head on New Years Day for quite some time now, with the intention of growing it out for exactly 1 year to see how long it'll grow.
Well we forgot to shave it on New Years Day, but we did remember today. Only 1 week late. Oh well, we will just have to wait till January 8th of 2012 to cut it again.
Well Levi, Vinny's younger brother had to jump on the band wagon too, because he adores his big brother Vinny and wants to be just as quirky as him. So here it is, middle of the winter, with 2 bald headed boys. Good thing they got lots of cool new knit hats from their grandpa this year, because they are going to need them.
The goal is to photograph them once a week to see the progress of the growth. Now if I can just remember to do it. lol....

Off to Airforce Training

This is one of those very special portraits, because it commemorates a young man, going off to be a hero. Tenna called me last week, and asked me if I could come out on short notice to take a family portrait, because her son Kemp was going off to Air force school next week. I was happy to find that we both had a day available that worked for all of us, and scheduled the session.
Of course this being Washington, there is just no telling what the weather will do, and so it was raining all day long. On my way to their house, where we took their beautiful portraits, I prayed for enough of a break in the rain to be able to photograph their session. God is good. He let up on the rain, just long enough for us to take some beautiful portraits around their gorgeous property. I am quite pleased with how they came out.
Many of you may not know this, but you don't have to be afraid to book your outdoor portraits because of the weather. Some of the best, and most flattering lighting, is when it is cloudy or overcast out. You don't have to wait for a bright, sunny day to have your portraits taken. Regardless of the weather, book your outdoor portraits.
This, I suppose, is a good time to announce my Summer Special. I am offering a free 11x14 with an outdoor portrait session until July 31st. This is an awesome savings. Not to mention outdoor portraits are so much fun. So call now before it's too late, and book your session. These outdoor session make beautiful Christmas cards too. "Now that's thinking ahead..."
